Blogging for Scrapbookers - Day 2

This is one of the few photos of me as a toddler and it's my favorite because I can tell how happy I am and how much I loved that monkey. I can vaguely remember this stuffed monkey, but every time I see it, I get a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. My mom told me that when we moved from that house, she threw away all of our stuffed animals and a ton of toys so they didn't have to move the junk as she called it. I have a feeling that's where my monkey went because I don't ever remember having him at our new home. It's a shame because I really would love to have that monkey now, just to get that small bit of my childhood back in my hands.

The people in the photo are my Mom's brother, Uncle Lee, my Mom, my brother Kenny, my sister Sharon, and my brother David, who was a year older than me. And my parents still have that chair in the background! I look about two, so that would make my Mom around 29 years old in this photo. My sister is holding a mini camera, and the yellow thing on the flour is a toy sub from the old tv show, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. That thing was pretty neat. We use to play with it in our small pool in the backyard. And I can still remember that Troll set of my sisters! I'm pretty sure I have one of the troll figures from it somewhere in my stuff. Mom didn't throw everything away in our move.  :)

  1. I had a similar monkey as a child - with white plastic sneakers and a yellow banana. Brings back memories.
