Explore - Day 1 Expanded Entry

Today is July 18th, 2011 (nine days until CKC and some major scrapbooking bliss), and me having to take a self-portrait isn't high on my list of things to do. I'm behind the camera everywhere I go. The only time I feel comfortable in getting photographed is when I'm in my hockey gear and on the ice. I hate my face. Why? I have a long, narrow face, with a high forehead that looks like a billboard waiting for advertisements to be pasted on it. The most glaring feature to me are my teeth. I so wish I could win the lottery simply to have them totally redone. I have tetracycline staining, so my teeth are a grayish tint. They're crooked from being crowded in my mouth. I should have had braces growing up, along with another tooth being removed to make room for my wisdom teeth. To me a beautiful smile can open doors. Having teeth like mine...ick.

I've have been feeling creative, but getting the time to spread my wings and expand on that creativity is another story. There's only so much time in the day and it's spread pretty thin right now. I'm taking this class, even though I really don't have the time, simply because I want to cram something that I love into my day. Scrapping helps me relax, and getting on the net and seeing other people's projects inspire me to do it even more.

As I look outside my window, I don't think about what lies ahead, all I'm thinking of is...damn, it's going to be a stinking hot and humid day! I know it's not poetic, but that's me. Practical, simple, and just wanting to live my life, day by day, striving to be happy. Striving to make my daughter, my parents, and my family and friends happy. If you surround yourself with people who are happy, chances are, you will be too.

  1. Don't be too hard on the way you look, we all have our hates, but it's amazing what Photoshop can do! LOL I love your playbook and look forward to "exploring" the rest of the class with you. :D
