Working on JYC

I worked on pre-prepping some more JYC cards. With a Disney trip in the future, still decluttering the house, and trying to sell said house, things are hectic. I won't talk about the million of other things because any of you who have kids knows what I'm talking about.  :)

Just for Fun

Like I have the time to goof around...not...but I was in the mood to try it and I know there are things that are different and I'm missing some things in the Spanish as I don't have it in my fonts, but here's my take on Ali Edwards Christmas stamps in Spanish. I did it all in Illustrator and then made it a jpg for here. I wish I had her talent for design and I wish I had her handwriting for real because my chicken scratch ruins so many of my pages. :)

I'm Here :)

I'm here and have been busy. Busy with hockey, busy with de-cluttering the house, busy with Bink and everyday life, busy battling a crappy sinus infection, busy preparing my JYC, and even tinkering around with some digital fun. I took tonight off to watch Iron Man II and relax. There's so much to do and I'll get it  done...just not as fast as I would like. TTFN! :)

The Annoying Orange

I know this character has been around for a while on YouTube, but I only discovered him recently and love him! Obnoxious!

Box o' Goodies!

I received my box of goodies prize from GCD Studio from their Blog Hop (jewelry making with Melody Ross Chip Art tools - they rock) and I was a happy camper indeed! Look at all the awesome stuff they sent me! Melody Ross Homespun Chic papers (36 double sided, some glitter, some flocked, all nice and thick), felt flowers, layered frames, and fabric brads! I didn't expect this much stuff. It amazes me how generous people are in the scrap world with give-a-ways. They could have just sent me the brads and I would have been happy, but to receive all of what I did get was wonderful. And this wasn't even the big prize from the blog hop either. Thank you GCD Studios and Melody Ross!

Gotta' love Big Lots!

I went to Big Lots today just to get another card for my camera for our Disney trip, 4G for $12.00 btw, and of course I had to go through their scrap section. I'm glad I did! I left with one black and one brown, American Crafts 8x8 cloth scrapbook albums! They cost me only $6.00 a piece. That's right, two for $12.00. That's an awesome buy. I also bought two spools of American Crafts Christmas ribbon for $1.00 a piece. I couldn't resist as I will put them on my JYC when it's done. Love Big Lots, and I love bargins!

Every six months or so, as a way of giving back to the community that has given me so much, I like to offer a FREE CLASS. I've done scrapbooking, photo editing, cards, prompts, holidays. This time I wanted to call ALL CRAFTERS & CREATIVE SOULS to join me on a journey of inspiration.
In our 10-day class together, we'll cover five different paths to inspiration:
  • Words
  • Music
  • Art
  • Tools
  • Play
For each of the themes we'll have a project to make, and different techniques to call your creative muse, no matter WHAT kind of art you make!
I have another purpose for offering a FREE class: to help you get a feel for what ALL of my other classes are like. If you choose to, you can easily continue your education here with me in a variety of ways: Digital scrapbooking, hybrid (paper + digi) scrapbooking, card-making, photo editing, albums, photography and more! We'll talk more about these in class, too!

It's easy to register!

  1. You'll need to make a free account here at JessicaSprague.com.
  2. Just click here to go to our Gift Code entry form, and enter this code: JSINSPIRE2010
  3. You'll be registered for the class, which you can find in your "My Classes" page.

After You Register

  1. Click on My Classes under the Student menu, or in the grey header at the top of the page.
  2. Go to the Inspiration Everywhere class.
  3. Read the introduction, including the supply list.
  4. Consider addinng this image to your blog sidebar or to Facebook to help spread the word. I would love your help in reaching as many crafters as we can for this great FREE class! Just right-click on the image and go to "Save Image As" to save and upload it, or "Copy Image Location" to copy the image's location and paste that in to your blog as an image.

Workbook

I highly recommend that you purchase the book Stories in Hand, which we'll be using in two of our lessons. You can purchase the book online, or find it at your local bookstore. You can also purchase the digital edition for just $6.95.

JYC 2010 Cover

Okay, I jumped the gun and made my cover. This is how basically most of my book will be looking. Papers, tags, glitter, sparkle, and stamps. Very simple and of course with journaling and date stamps.

Bernie Parent!

Bernie Parent made a visit to the place where my sis works and she got to meet him! He gave her a hug and chatted with her too. She is so lucky! For you non-hockey people, Bernie is a legend. He was the goalie for the Philadelphia Flyers, and if it wasn't for him, they would have never won those two Stanley Cups years ago. Bernie still ROCKS!

JYC Planning

I'll be trying to do some pre-making of pages now so I won't be so rushed this year. I'm going to focus more on the journaling than the pictures or elements this year. It may result in a more boring book visually, but I want to have fun with experimenting with different types of scrappin' this year.

Journal Your Christmas is coming!

Okay, I'm flip flopping on what size album I'm going to do. Last year I did 8x8. I was leaning toward doing 8x8 again as I have two really nice red albums in that size. I wanted to do 6x12, but I don't have the page protectors and am too cheap to buy them right now. I'm seriously thinking of using a spiral bound Rusty Pickle board book that I bought at CKC two years ago. It has twenty 4.5x6.5 darkish red cardstock pages inside the raw chipboard cover. I didn't think I could do a small album since 8x8 was small and I normally do 12x12 until I did LSNED as a 6x6 American Crafts D-ring album. I don't do photos on these projects as I don't have a photo printer at home. I also tend not to do bulky pages, so I think this little Rusty Pickle book may be good for me. I don't know about not having page protectors, but I'm drawn to this little book, so it may be the one. My papers will still be Basic Grey Jovial along with Fancy Pants Traditions. They're both similar in colors. I wish I would have bought some of the new Echo Park Christmas papers when I had the chance at CK Scrap & Play. Their papers are so bright and colorful. I still might buy them in their digital versions and I might end up doing another album as digi with photos to be printed out after the holiday in a 4x6 format. Whew...I think I've rambled on enough, but I'm so xcited about JYC!

October LOAD - Day 31

I'm sad that LOAD is over, but I have 31 layouts to show for taking this class. The next one is in February and I'll be ready for it then too! I'll spend November making Christmas gifts and getting my book ready for Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas class. :)
