October LOAD - Day 29

October LOAD - Day 28

No matter how much I thought about doing something with my emails, this is what kept popping in my head. Snail Mail! And who better to represent it than Gary? It took me forvever to fussy cut this and trace the edges, but in the end, I have a fun lo.

Blogger is being a pain.

http://carrieferrier.blogspot.com/ For some reason my blog won't let me add her blog to my list so I'll post a reminder here until it does. :)

Snapshots of Life at Eighteen25!

Snapshots of Life

We would love for you all to participate with us. This is a new idea that we are super excited about and we're really hoping it works out. Every Wednesday evening, we will be posting a time on this blog. Then on Thursday, at that time, you need to take a picture of whatever is going on in your life. Whether you're cooking dinner, working on a project, watching a movie, getting kids ready for school... we want to see it. You'll be able to link up your photo with ours on Friday morning.

So... tomorrow (October 28th) you'll need to take your first Snapshots of Life photo at: 5:00 PM then on friday...come link up your photo with us, grab our super cute button and add it to your blog. (under your photo for that day) That's it. ;) We can't wait to see your photos. and we just might be... possibly... maybe... choosing one of you who plays along to send out a surprise too!  It's just a rumor going on around here...  :)

October LOAD - Day 27

Another lo using Echo Park, Life is Good paper. Scraplifted from the cover of Sept. 2010 issue of Creating Keepsakes. Chipboard heart de-embossed using Chip Art tools. And thanks to chalk ink and a heat tool, I was able to make an orange button.

October LOAD - Day 26

A page kit that I doctored up.

October LOAD - Day 25

Scraplifted from one of Ali Edwards layouts.

Cricut Rewards

Thanks to the free cartridge that I received from ProvoCraft at the CK Scrap & Play, I had enough points to order the Soccer cartridge. It ends up costing me $10.99 for shipping and handling, so it's not exactly free, but it's better than the price I'd get in a store.

October LOAD - Day 24

Another lo from Echo Park's Life is Good leftover papers from CK Scrap & Play. The lo is scraplifted from the project too. I am so loving these papers. I wish I would have bought more.

Jack and Cat Curio!

If you love Tim Holtz, then you need to bookmark this site! Jack and Cat Curio has some awesome old time items and fresh ideas. Go to their blog and have some fun, especially with their music list playing in the background. :)

October LOAD - Day 23

Echo Park paper called Life is Good. I used these from the leftovers from the class of the same name I took at CK Scrap & Play (I lifted one of the los here). I loved their papers and bought a pack called A Walk in the Park. I need to go and buy more they were so bright and happy, plus nice and thick!

My Nephew's Art

This is one of my nephew's recent works of art. He's going for his Masters over at the Temple art department (Tyler), so I'm really proud of him for it. He's doing with his life what I should have done when I was young, following his dream!

Me & Lisa at CK SCrap & Play

At first I wasn't going to go up to Lisa and get my photo taken, but I thought better of it. This would probably be the only time I would ever get to meet her. She gave a wonderful keynote presentation and in meeting her, she's such a nice person. When you read her blog and hear her talk, she reminds you of the small things in life that are most important. The reasons why we scrap. I'm glad I decided to go and meet her. The only down fall would be she's so tiny! I wear a size ten and I look huge next to her. How she stays so small after having all those children is amazing! :)

CK Scrap & Play Review - Part 1 :)

I am so glad I came to CKSP! You paid $100.00 to get in and the amount of things they give you in the goodie bag alone was over that amount retail. The sponsors, especially Provo Craft, out did themselves. You get a tag with your name on that's was on a lanyard, so you could come and go in the room as you please. Once you found your spot at a table, you went back to get your goodie bag and part of your class project for the day.

The goodies came in a Little Yellow Bicycle tote. Here's what was in my bag: One Glue Dots DotnGo, Carolees Creations Stack Pack, 3 sheets of Bella Blvd Flirty paper, 3 sheets of Bella Blvd. Plastino paper, a pack of Bella Blvd. clear stamps by Stephanie Hunt, 1 Nikki Sivils Chirp Chat large die cut paper, 1 pack Fancy Pants Daily Grind rubons, 1 sheet Adorn It Spice It Up cardstock stickers, Adorn It Family Scallop stickers, an Adorn It idea catalog, a box of Heidi Swapp crimson chipboard lowercase set, a card for 50 free prints at Shutterfly, a pack of Prima Sprites flowers, the Sept. 2010 issue of CK mag, 2 Maya Road sheer 3 ring top tab albums, a small tin of Maya Road metal slides, a 4.5x6.5 DCWV Pocket Full of Posies matstack, a DCWV Glitter Sticker pack, a Imaginisce camera Snag'em stamp, a sheet of word stickers, Amuse Creatove Candy scallop clear stickers, a huge pack of phrase stickers, a pack of SEI Doodley-Doo girl cooster tags, one strip of Jenni Bowlin Black Label Strip Stickers, the Paper Loft Word Label stickers, a pack of American Crafts Dolce grey thickers, a pack of Memory Makers brown Puffy Alpha stickers, a 50% off coupon for use at Paperkiwi.com, a 20% off coupon for Scrappingsimoly.com, a sheet of white alpha stickers, the book by Creating Keepsakes called My Creative Companion 2, a gift giving idea sheet from CK, and last but not least, a Cricut cartridge. Mine was the alpha cartridge Jubilee!

The give-a-ways during the crop, which I didn't win any but they rocked, included several new Gypsys, eight Cricut Expressions that were used as demos at the crops, six Cuttlebugs that were used at the crops, Sakura gloss pen packs, various Cricut cartridges, a Cricut Cake machine, various Cricut Cake cartridges, DCWV matstacks, Thickers, Close to My Heart stamp sets and papers, Echo Park paper packs, a canvas that you can have a photo put on, a Xyron Croptopeia, a quilting pack, and too many other goodie bags and items to list here. They gave away tons of scrap items!

The candy bar was awesome and I think everyone made repeated visits to that wonderful place. My favorite were those huge maltballs. The candy table and all the crop tables all had really cute handmade flower decorations. I'll be posting photos on my blog of everything later so you'll be able to see them.

I'll do another post about the classes and Lisa's keynote address later. All I can say is you should have gone and if you couldn't make it, make sure you don't miss it next year!

I didn't get up and mingle much as we were too busy with our projects, but for those of you here, I was the woman who got up on Saturday and made all the animal noises. Yes, I'm a goofball, but when you grow up around animals, you kind of learn how to make all of those noises.  :)  I along with the friend of mine sat at a table in the front and scrapped with two other really nice women whose e-mails we got so we could keep in touch. Waving hi to Denise and Cindy if they read the blog. You were fun to hang out with this past weekend!

Valley Forge CK Scrap & Play today!

Well, it's finally here and I'm almost ready to go. I still need to pack my clothes and get a shower, etc. I'm going to go through my bags one more time to thin them out. I don't want to bring a ton of stuff and am trying to get it down from three to two crop bags. They're not big, just annoying to carry so much stuff. I have a tackle box, a canvas tool box, and a Creative Memories bag. If I can thin the tackle box out, I will be happy. I can't wait to pick up my registration packet and get scrappin'!

October LOAD - Day 18

My Dad's machine was similar to this...a big, heavy, cast iron style. :) The fussy cut monster is a Nauga. My Dad even made me one from the naugahyde material. If I can find it, I'll scrap it!

CK Scrap & Play Valley Forge is SOLD OUT!

I just checked the CK site and the Scrap & Play event in King of Prussia is SOLD OUT! I'm so glad Mitch and I registered early. This is something I've been looking forward to since CKC where it was hinted at. The idea of getting to crop without stopping (except for sleep) for two whole days is wonderful. The classes look great and again, I am so hoping we will get the candy bar that they talked about in Provo. Time will tell, but all I know is I need to order some more photos to take with me.   :)

More Chip Art Tools

My hubby is going to kill me when he gets my PayPal bill this month. I bought two more Chip Art sets. Here they are. I can't wait to get them and use them!

October LOAD - Day 8

Everyone thinks the class bully is the poor kid, or the kid from the 'wrong side of the tracks'. In most cases you'll find that it's the pretty girls in the clique, the popular jocks. They're the ones busy tearing others down, so they can be up. Pay attention to what your children are doing. Your daughter or son may be making some poor kid's life a living hell just so they can fit into the cool group.

October LOAD - Day 5

Fussy cut the letters, arrow and most of the glasses/face. Used two circle punches for the glasses. I didn't want to use anything but cardstock on this one. It would have been so much brighter if I had used patterned paper, but I'm trying to experiment while doing this class.

October LOAD - Day 4

I loved this challenge as it allowed me to finally use this photo! It was cluttered with toys on the floor and close cropping it let me scrap it and tell the story with my DD being the focal point, not the toys!

October LOAD - Day 3

Melody Ross Chip Art!

I won on eBay two sets of Melody Ross Chip Art tools. I got the Chickadee uppercase alphabet set and the Sparrow lowercase alphabet set. I want to get some floral sets, the one with the butterflies, and another with the birds as I know I would use those the most with my layouts. I can't wait to try these! Oh, and I will need to buy a numbers set too.   :)
