February 28 - Pancakes

Simple scrapbooking to the rescue! I wanted to do my last layout for February LOAD and I have. I made it simple and told the story and have a cute photo of Bink to boot. The magazine may be dead, but their web site is still there. I think I'll be visiting it more often for stress free scrappin'.

February 28 - Ummmmmm...no?

I don't feel like scrappin' right now. I'm bummed that the Olympics are over. I did buy some new Mind's Eye paper today on my way to my hockey game, the new Papercrafts issue, and some Crayola chipboard books. That took some of the edge off. I also won on eBay tonight the 50 States Cricut cartridge for $23.83, so that's even more of a happy dance feeling.

Bink's Drawings

I get Bink to draw pictures of herself when she signs the cards. I love her little drawings! The last one she drew she told me the stuff inside her was her stomach, intestines, and esophagus.  LOLOLOL! The first one with all the legs is her running. She thinks all cartoons run like Mr. Crabs on Spongebob.  :)

I did this last night after midnight. I was exhausted and ready to passout. I should have gone to bed. This is one of those preprinted papers that you slap the photo on. I'm not happy with it at all, but I'm posting it as a reminder to not scrap tired like this ever again. :)

I don't know if I'll have the time to do a layout tonight. Hopefully I'll squeeze in some time later tonight. I spent the last few hours watching USA women's hockey beat the Russians.

April 28, 1962 - Saturday

I was born on April 28,1962 so I checked it out and it was a Saturday. The below poem hits it on the mark. I always seem to have to work harder at most things in life to get something in return, so I'm glad my parents instilled a great work ethic in me.

My aunt and uncle were married on this day as well. So in being born, I made my Mom miss her brother's wedding and a great reception with all the family. Even then I was being a pain in the butt to her. ;-)

Here's the super small and super simple Valentine Day card I made for Chuck from Bink and I. She signed her name as best as she could in the small space and drew a cartoon of her holding a heart. :)

February 13 - Mikado

I kind of rushed to do this today so I'm not exactly happy making it so plain. We were supposed to have someone come look at the house and the realtor never came. I'm a bit peeved by that. Tonight I have a hockey game and will be back late so I won't have time to do it then. So here is today's layout of the day, for better or worse.

Club CK Storage Tip Plus Two of My Own

I bought the premiere issue of Club Ck last week and saw the multiple hanger used for ribbon storage and I went and got one asap. I still have more spools to dig out and add to it. That got me thinking. So I picked up a regular hanging from my closet and some binder clips so I'd have a cheap place to hang my strips of ribbon. The plastic baggie holds thin or too small to hang scraps. I used a box that was left over packaging from an 8X8 kit as a storage unit for my carded ribbon. I saved a ton of money on ribbon storage as it cost me $8.97 for the ribbon storage units at WalMart and they don't hold the smaller rolls. Thank you Club CK for the great idea and inspiration. :)

Chalked the letters to match the paper. Used floss to tie the two buttons in a stack. Used tweezers to put tiny gems on the green flowers for a small amount of sparkle.

February 8 - Curious

I love doing this layout a day project. No, I couldn't take the class with my two friends that I did JYC and TCOM, but doing a layout each day along with them and chatting about it is almost as good. I do miss getting on a forum with other members and looking at a cool Flickr gallery full of other peoples layouts...but doing it with friends makes it good.   :)

I really hate how my photos of my layouts look. The layouts are so much nicer in person.

The Cinch

I've been thinking of getting a binding system to be able to make my own small album projects without the snap rings and I think I'll be saving up for the Cinch by WeRMemory Keepers. The demo by Stacy Julian shows how easy it is to use and I love easy tools. Someone said the rumored price will be $99.00, so I better start saving or hope I can get it at a craft store with a 40 or 50 percent off coupon.  :)

Cheap! Cheap!

Until I get some extra cash, here's my answer to a temporary box to hold my Serenade Cricut cartridge that came with my Expression. I feel like kicking Provocraft in the butt for using blister packs with some of their cartridges. What a racket to get you to buy more of their product, as in storage boxes. I stapled this together using a cereal box and two pieces of velco. It'll do for now until I can find an old VHS storage case.

The photo is blurry because I printed it on cardstock. I'll get real photo for this later when I have the time. I really need a new photo printer.

I finally figured out a way to print without it looking crappy! I have my own personal font now.  :)

I saw this last weekend and it ROCKS! The bonus was seeing it in 3D at the iMax. Great movie that I want to see again and as soon as the DVD comes out, I'm buying it!
